Personal Childhood Web

Dawn Clift: My mother. She is my rock. She had children far too young and strives to make the best outcome of her circumstances by providing the best upbringing she could have ever provided. She is always pushing me to reach for what I want and not to stop until I have it. She provided a safe neighborhood to play outside in and always something for us to do. She also made sure that we explored different cultures as to never be prejudice towards others.
Rick Clift: My father. Due to the lack of support in his upbringing he has been overly supportive in mine and my siblings. He has always encouraged me at anything I do and has provided opportunities to explore my surroundings. He was always front row at any sport I ever did and would take interests in all of my activities.
Alyssa Clift-Ward: My sister. My best friend and partner in crime. Growing up with a slightly older sibling was amazing. She has always been by my side and along the way has taught me some of the most important life lessons. Since she is older, she usually learned things the hard way and made she that I took the best route.
Joyce Alaniz: My grandmother. She was the person that kept my family together and made sure we all spent as much time together as possible. She made sure that my cousins and myself were raised together and grew up together with the support of our extended family.
Sydna Norton: A lady who I refer to as my great grandmother. She was the mother of my grandfathers long term girlfriend. She and I bonded the first time I ever met her, it was like kindred spirits. She was once a school teach and always loved children. She was the ultimate reason I decided to work with children.
All of these people continue to impact my life. They are either encouraging me or are the reason why I choose to make an impact. I am so grateful for the way all of these people have impacted my childhood.

  1. I think you are so lucky to have a mom like that. She always encouraged you to be a risk taker and open-minded person. I believe it benefits you a lot when you grow up. You will be taking the risks and making friends with different cultural backgrounds. I can see you will carry it on to your next generation, or the children in your class.

  2. After reading your posting. I can tell that you have a wonderful support system. I also have a sister, but unlike you, she is 12 years younger than me. I love her very much, and I hope that I make a positive impact in her life. I always encourage her to go further than me.

  3. I enjoyed reading your post and I especially admired your grandmothers efforts to keeping you and your family together... Truly making family bonds stronger during childhood, pays off during adulthood... Im glad your childhood was full of love and warmth, hope this love keeps spreading!
