Inspirational People In The Field of Early Childhood

Marian Wright Edelman "I never, ever thought about what I do as a job or a career it was always just a mater of figuring out what needed to be done"

Edward Zigler PhD "...we need to recapture the hope, to believe once more that it is possible to set the next generation of American children and families on a course toward a better life"

Personal Childhood Web

Dawn Clift: My mother. She is my rock. She had children far too young and strives to make the best outcome of her circumstances by providing the best upbringing she could have ever provided. She is always pushing me to reach for what I want and not to stop until I have it. She provided a safe neighborhood to play outside in and always something for us to do. She also made sure that we explored different cultures as to never be prejudice towards others.
Rick Clift: My father. Due to the lack of support in his upbringing he has been overly supportive in mine and my siblings. He has always encouraged me at anything I do and has provided opportunities to explore my surroundings. He was always front row at any sport I ever did and would take interests in all of my activities.
Alyssa Clift-Ward: My sister. My best friend and partner in crime. Growing up with a slightly older sibling was amazing. She has always been by my side and along the way has taught me some of the most important life lessons. Since she is older, she usually learned things the hard way and made she that I took the best route.
Joyce Alaniz: My grandmother. She was the person that kept my family together and made sure we all spent as much time together as possible. She made sure that my cousins and myself were raised together and grew up together with the support of our extended family.
Sydna Norton: A lady who I refer to as my great grandmother. She was the mother of my grandfathers long term girlfriend. She and I bonded the first time I ever met her, it was like kindred spirits. She was once a school teach and always loved children. She was the ultimate reason I decided to work with children.
All of these people continue to impact my life. They are either encouraging me or are the reason why I choose to make an impact. I am so grateful for the way all of these people have impacted my childhood.

Green Eggs and Ham by Dr, Seuss

This is one of my favorite childhood stories. I remember in kindergarten reading this story and then being able to actually eat green eggs and ham, it was so much fun to eat something green.
I also like this story because it reminds me a lot of myself. I am such a picky person and I dont like to do things out of my comfort zone, but once you do try something different it gives you a great experience.

"We could never have loved the earth so well if we had had no childhood in it." ~George Eliot, The Mill on the Floss, 1860

This quote has a special place in my heart because I love to see when children explore the world around them. As adults we forget the simple things of watching the leaves fall or playing in the rain and these are things that little children enjoy every minute of.
